Browser extension

Your API status,
right in the toolbar.

A lightweight monitor for GreyhoundAPI. It pings the server and reads live status on your schedule, shows a colour-coded badge, and raises a desktop alert the moment the results pipeline falls behind.

What it watches

Everything you'd otherwise refresh the status page for — at a glance.

Toolbar badge

Green when healthy, amber with a count when something is slow, red when the API is unreachable.

Live status

Server ping, last-sync age, and per-region races awaiting results with median and p95 delay.

Desktop alerts

A notification when a new issue appears — once per issue, not on every check.

Your thresholds

Poll interval, sync-stale limits, awaiting count and ping ceiling — all adjustable and saved locally.

Install in under a minute

  1. Download the zip above and unzip it somewhere permanent — the browser loads the extension from that folder, so don't delete it afterwards.
  2. Open chrome://extensions in your browser.
  3. Turn on Developer mode with the toggle in the top-right.
  4. Click Load unpacked and select the unzipped greyhound-api-monitor folder.
  5. Pin the extension, click its icon, open settings (the gear), paste your API key and save.
Your key stays with you. The extension keeps your API key in your browser's own local storage and only ever sends it to GreyhoundAPI. Loading an unpacked extension needs Developer mode left switched on, and your browser may show a periodic reminder about it — that is expected for tools installed outside the Web Store.
