Terms of Service

Last updated 8 July 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the GreyhoundAPI API, website and related services (the "Service"), operated by GreyhoundAPI ("we", "us"). By creating an account, generating an API key or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The Service

The Service provides factual greyhound racing data for Great Britain and Australia over a REST and WebSocket API, together with documentation and account tooling. The Service provides data only. It does not provide, and nothing in it constitutes, betting or gambling advice, tips, predictions, ratings or recommendations.

2. Accounts and API keys

3. Acceptable use

Your use of the Service is subject to our Acceptable Use Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms. In particular you must not exceed or attempt to circumvent rate limits, interfere with the Service, or resell or bulk-redistribute the raw data.

4. Data: freshness, accuracy and "as is"

Racing data is compiled from official GB and AU sources and, where available, includes Betfair exchange market summaries. You acknowledge:

5. No betting advice

The Service is an informational data feed. It is not gambling advice and must not be presented to end users as advice, tips or a prediction of outcomes. Any wagering or financial decision you or your users make is made solely at your own risk. We are not liable for any losses arising from betting or other decisions based on the data. Gamble responsibly and comply with the gambling laws of your jurisdiction.

6. Fees and billing

7. Rate limits and fair use

Each tier has published request limits and connection limits. We may throttle, queue or reject requests that exceed those limits (returning 429), and may take action against usage that threatens the stability of the Service for others.

8. Intellectual property and redistribution

As between you and us, we and our licensors own the Service, the compiled dataset and all related intellectual property. Subject to these Terms and your active subscription, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access the API and use the data within your own applications and analysis. You may not resell, sublicense or redistribute the raw data in bulk, nor use the Service to build or populate a competing dataset for redistribution. Our name and logo may not be used without permission except to factually state that your product uses the Service.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SERVICE AND ALL DATA ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, TIMELY, SECURE OR ERROR-FREE. The Service is offered without a formal uptime SLA.

10. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA OR GOODWILL, OR FOR ANY GAMBLING OR TRADING LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID TO US IN THE THREE (3) MONTHS PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM.

11. Indemnity

You will indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, losses and expenses arising from your use of the Service, your applications, or your breach of these Terms or of any applicable law.

12. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms, non-payment, or to protect the Service or third parties. You may stop using the Service and cancel at any time. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including sections 4, 5 and 8–11) will survive.

13. Changes to the Service and these Terms

We may modify the Service and these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "last updated" date above and, where appropriate, further notice. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the operator is established, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, and the courts of that jurisdiction will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, except where mandatory local law provides otherwise.
